THEME POST 3FEMINISM

In this last blog post, I will write about something that is a fundamental piece in my life and that has meant a lot of personal growth: feminism. It is no surprise to anyone at this point, or at least I hope so, that women and dissidents are constantly oppressed in this cis-gender, straight-normative and patriarchal system, benefiting men (not only in their personal space, but also in academic, economic , and others aspects) With so many currents and strands of feminism, I mainly ascribe to intersectional feminism: I believe that all oppressions are a great network, that determine each other, but possessing particular characteristics, generating a network of interconnected oppressions. It is not the same to be a white and high-class cisgender woman, to be a woman or a racialized migrant and low-class dissent. Patriarchy is patriarchy here and in any corner of the planet, but without a doubt we are all affected differently by having satins and physical and social characteristic...

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

This apocalyptic context has plagued us all at different levels. But this time, I am going to write about the changes it has brought about in my study program. First of all, if there is something I am grateful for, it is not having to take a micro or metro. I live far from the faculty, and it is tiring to travel 2 hours a day from my house to the university round trip. Mainly in winter when it is cold, it dawns later and you have to get up early to arrive at 8:30 for classes or a test. Now I can do it at house. But this has brought more difficulties than benefits: studying at home is difficult. To clean, cook, etc. when you have to study it takes a lot of time. When someone else can do it for me, I really feel guilty and that doesn't let me do my homework easily. And the noise is not only mental.  Because reading with the vacuum cleaner and Chayanne in the background does not make the stage much easier either. In addition, there are teachers who do not understand the ...

PERSONAL OPINIONS

Hello again. Now I am going to write what I think about the opinions, doesn't it sound funny? Since I was very young, my family taught me that my opinion is valid, that I must always say it because it is my right. So I grew up with the idea that what I think is important, regardless of my color, my features, my gender, etc. However, it also taught me to respect the opinions of others: the rest are not obliged to agree with me nor I with them. But that this is solved with communication and dialogue. This idea sounds great and flawless. But in daily life we are exposed to multiple situations where our opinion is not taken into account or is not respected by factors such as those I mentioned before: living with a feminized body has made me go through a lot of invisibility and oppression. My features (but not my skin) have made me listen to very violent and disrespectful "personal opinions". I think this is very important: we all have the right to express our opin...

POST GRADUATE STUDIES

Hello, I am going to write about my plans for graduate studies. I am finishing my sociology career at university. I am in my fourth year, and to finish my degree I have two options: finish it with my thesis, as would be normal; or do the master in Sociology of modernization, so that by the sixth year have the undergraduate and post-title. I have thought a little about it but it does not convince me of the second way. However, I want to continue studying. I wish all my life. I love learning and knowing new things, it is my fascination since I was little.  If there are any patrons there, write me;) I have also thought about going to Argentina and studying Psychology (because it is free) but I am very afraid not to live with my mother and go away, to another country as well. I have also thought about studying a post-degree in social psychology, social work, or statistics, which is what I like most of all that I have been taught in my career. I like the issues of inequality (socia...

Meditation

Hi again! Lets talk about meditation. I think the video the teacher send was very clarifying. Im very exceptical but I meditate when I want and I can (I mean: mentally, fisically and spacially). I belive those elements are some conditions to have a Good experiencie because, we are in capitalism and it's hard to all of us live in peace when we consider all the violence and inequalities that are there. Not all of us have our mind healthy to face ourselfs like when you meditate, not all of us have a space to do it, and not all of us have a healthy body that its so important in this activity (when you are sick, meditation its not exactly the first thing you want to do to feel better) I started meditating so Young, at 11 or 12 years old. I learned by myself, then I learn by other that guided me, making better the experience. I think it works because I feel better when I do it. I’m very nervious and anxious, and that calm momento relax me a lot. It really helps when you are atribulated...
